Worship
St. Barnabas is centered in the Holy Eucharist, “the breaking of bread.” It is central to our Sunday and Mid-week services. The atmosphere at St. Barnabas is eclectic, with some coming in shorts and some in suits and dresses.
Our members range in age from small babies to 94 glorious years old – our oldest member. Children are welcome at all times. We also provide a nursery for those who choose to use it. A children’s sermon is given every week during the 10:30 Sunday service.
Hymns for the 10:30 service are accompanied primarily by the organ, though we also sometimes use the piano and, on occasion, the guitar.
Sermons are typically informal and rest in the notion that God loves all people unconditionally. In response, we are called to love unconditionally while “striving for justice and peace among all people” and “respecting the dignity of every human being.”
